Anxiety 

Anxiety & Phobias

Experiencing a certain amount of anxiety in life is normal.  For instance, your heart races when riding a roller coaster for the first time, you get sweaty palms right before giving a speech in front of a large group, or your shoulders tense tightly when you hear a clap of thunder roll across the night sky.  Anxiety becomes a concern when symptoms are excessive or occur in a situation that should not provoke anxiety. 

Common symptoms of anxiety include:  

  • Backaches

  • Easily Startled

  • Headaches

  • Heart Palpitations

  • Irritability

  • Nausea

  • Numbness or tingling

  • Restlessness

  • Sleep Difficulty 

  • Stomaches

  • Sweating

  • Tension in muscles

  • Trembling


 Below is a list of different types of anxiety disorders:

  • Acute Stress Disorder

  • Agoraphobia

  • Generalize Anxiety Disorder

  • Obsessive Compulsive DIsorder

  • Panic Disorder

  • Phobia

  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder 


Anxiety is treatable. Therapy can be a very effective treatment for anxiety.
