Experiencing a certain amount of anxiety in life is normal. For instance, your heart races when riding a roller coaster for the first time, you get sweaty palms right before giving a speech in front of a large group, or your shoulders tense tightly when you hear a clap of thunder roll across the night sky. Anxiety becomes a concern when symptoms are excessive or occur in a situation that should not provoke anxiety.
